Jani Erola discusses research and innovation policy at the Europe Forum
Professor Jani Erola, Director of the INVEST Research Flagship Centre, Marc Lemaître, Director General of Research and Innovation (DG RTD) at the European Commission, and Anita Lehikoinen, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Culture, will discuss EU research and innovation policy at the European Forum.
The debate on Comprehensive Security and EU’s Research and Innovation will take place on the Little Stage of Turku City Theatre on Wednesday 28 August at 16.00–17.00. The debate can also be followed remotely online.
The debate will focus on the critical and long-term objectives and needs for the EU’s R&I policy and funding, and how these contribute to the comprehensive security. The discussions concentrates also on topical initiatives, including dual-use technologies, and explore their potential impact on R&I policies and programmes.
The debate will be moderated by professor Markku Jokisipilä, Director of the Centre for Parliamentary Studies at the University of Turku.
The Europe Forum will be held for the seventh time in Turku on 28-30 August 2024. The central theme of this year’s edition of the EU’s number one debate arena is “Europe’s Secure Future”.
