INVEST visitor: Daniela Bellani

In the “INVEST visitors” series, we present visiting professors and fellows who have arrived at the flagship INVEST. This time we are introducing Assistant Professor Daniela Bellani.

I’m an Assistant Professor Social Statistics at the Department of Statistical Sciences, Catholic University of Milan (Italy). My previous appointments include positions at the Scuola Normale Superiore (Italy), University of Bologna (Italy), University of Florence (Italy) and at the Pompeu Fabra University (Spain) where I was collaborating in the Socio-Demographic group (Demosoc). My research interests span social demography and economic sociology. My research examines intergenerational transmission of attitudes, the well-being of workers in the face of technological change, fertility preferences and time use.

Why did you want to visit INVEST?

I am confident that INVEST will provide me with the opportunity to build new collaborations with expert members of intergenerational relationships. Furthermore, the interdisciplinary approach to studying intergenerational relationships aligns perfectly with my research goals.

What you expect/hope to reach during your visit in INVEST?

My goal is to deepen my partnerships with INVEST researchers and actively engage in initiatives focused on intergenerational dynamics, with a specific focus on the nature and frequency of contact between generations. I intend to share insights, investigate new research opportunities, and collaborate on projects that can influence real-world policies related to.
